Rachel Närhi has been dancing and playing with fire since before she was born. Her parents often joke that she left the hospital doing a sprightly jig whilst playing with matches. Since then, she's started many more fires in many audiences' eyes. Classically trained in both Ballet and Modern Dance, she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts, and has had the privilege of studying or performing with David Dorfman (NYC), Lines Ballet, Pacific Dance Company, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Gerard Theoret, and Velocity Dance Center to name a few. As a teenager she thought it would be cool to dance with fire, but didn't learn how until 2000. Since then, she's been combining both passions and putting the results on stage to delight new and old audiences alike. Rachel joined Spinergy Arts in the Spring of 2006, after working with many of the cast members in the NW Fire Conclave and at Burning Man. She's thrilled to work with so many talented and collaborative individuals and looks forward to every new creation. back to main members page
